Playoffs!

The playoffs have begun in both of our divisions! We had some great games yesterday and a couple of surprises!

In our Asian Open Division, two of the top 4 teams were upset! The Prodigies and the Bulls were the victims! Both in very different ways. The Prodigies were the first. They ran into a buzzsaw in the form of Rock Center! Rock Center jumped all over the Prodigies in the first quarter and did not take their foot off the gas the whole game long! Winning handily, 76-59! In a much tighter contest, tied at 57 apiece the Bulls were the victims of a late 3pt shot by Malcolm with 0:00.5 remaining! CCU Win’s a thriller, 60-57! The #1 seed Boogie beat up on New Jersey Sets, who were playing their second game of the day after being victorious over the #8 seeded Dawgs. The Ranger Squad are gelling at the right time! They showed off the dominance by dismantling a depleted SF Fire team, 72-45! So, that sets up a final four that will set up a rematch in one semifinal game and a matchup of two teams that are “en fuego”! The first game of the day will pit the team that they call Boogie versus a CCU team that is playing w/ house money! The twin towers of Ant Navarette and Prabe Bolaria will be a tough task for CCU to handle! The fact that CCU has played together for a while may just be enough to pull off the upset! Meanwhile, in the other semifinal game, the #2 seeded Ranger Squad and Rock Center may be playing the best ball of the season! With Nick Wong leading the Ranger Squad and Japheth (Rock Center) this game should be very high octane! This game should be fun!

If you think that all the excitement is in our upper division, well we’ve got a surprise for you! In our lower division, we have our Elite 8! The number one seed, Threat Matrix had a little stumble at the finish line by losing the last game of the regular season. They are set to face Rise who are rising up at the right time being winners of their last theee contests! Jackson Arms have a rematch setup versus the Saints, who beat them 68-56 in Week 2! Their lineup got a facelift since then with Isiah Martinez now leading the way! On the other side of the bracket we have the #2 seeded SF Warriors taking on the surprise of the playoffs, Make It Drizzle! Can RJ make it two great scoring performances in a row or will Alvin Lim put Drizzle in their place? The hottest team in D3 is Bangarang! Winners of their last four contests battle against DRP Jets! DRP w/ their captain injured, possibly out for the season, have to put a full team effort to upset Bangarang and continue on in the postseason!

There are great matchups up and down the list! I can’t wait for Sunday to get here!
